Tropical uniform, 1917

 

 

         

 

On 25 August 1917, Lieutenant Leader and 65 men of the North Irish Horse sailed from Marseilles for Alexandria, Egypt, conducting horses to Australian troops. They remained at Alexandria for two weeks before returning to France, and during that time donned tropical uniform.
